Alginate Dressing

Alginate dressing is an advanced moist wound dressing, composed with highly absorbent alginate fiber which is derived from seaweed, available in flat and rope pattern, indicated for the moderate to heavy exuding wounds, contains mannuronic acid and guluronic acid (50%-70% Mannuronic acid and 30%-50% Glucuronic acid). The dressing can absorb large amount of exudates.

Instructions

1. Clean the wound area, ensure the peri-wound skin is dry.
2. Place dressing to overlap the wound edges at least 1.5 cm.
3. Gently apply the dressing on the wound and fixed with a
bandage or dressing.
